MBA 1+1
Mapúa University partners with Arizona State University to launch new dual master’s degree pathways for global careers
Mapúa University’s E.T. Yuchengco School of Business, in collaboration with Arizona State University’s (ASU) Thunderbird School of Global Management, has officially unveiled its new 1+1 dual master’s degree pathways. Designed to accelerate career growth, this partnership allows graduate students to earn both a Mapúa Master of Business Administration (MBA) and an ASU master’s degree, significantly boosting their international management credentials and global employment opportunities.
Through this innovative 1+1 model, students can complete their first year of study at Mapúa University and their second year through ASU, gaining prestigious qualifications from two world-class institutions. ASU’s Thunderbird School of Global Management is globally renowned, consistently ranking number one for international trade in the QS International Trade Rankings.
Expanding Horizons with Two Specialized Pathways
The collaboration introduces two distinct academic tracks tailored to the demands of the modern global workforce:
• Master of Global Management (MGM Track): This program bridges the gap between traditional business administration, public policy, and international affairs. It focuses heavily on Industry 4.0 skills, including digital transformation, innovation,
entrepreneurship, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)sustainability. Mapúa MBA students on this track can transfer eligible credits to complete their second year on-site at the ASU campus in the United States. Because the MGM program carries a STEM designation, eligible F-1 visa holders may also qualify for Optional Practical Training (OPT), allowing them to gain temporary work authorization and valuable real-world corporate experience in the U.S.
• Master of Leadership and Management (MLM Track): Designed for professionals looking to assume higher managerial responsibilities or transition across industries, this track builds essential skills in cross-cultural communication, finance, data analytics, and global team management. The MLM track offers maximum flexibility, allowing students to earn their second degree completely online from ASU while maintaining their professional commitments.
A Future-Focused, Elite Learning Experience
The 1+1 dual master’s degree pathways are built to provide graduate students and working professionals with the versatile expertise required for modern leadership. “Higher education must consistently and continuously evolve alongside industry
demands,” stated Donn Enrique Moreno, Dean of the Mapúa University E.T. Yuchengco School of Business. “Our pathways program provides graduate students and working professionals the interdisciplinary expertise and credentials required for modern leadership. The possibilities are endless, and you don’t have to limit your potential to a
single track.”
Beyond the academic curriculum, students enrolled in the Mapúa MBA program benefit from exclusive mentorship opportunities led by executive leaders from the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC) and Ayala Corporation. To accommodate working professionals, Mapúa utilizes its flexible Tri-X (Triple eXperience) learning framework, delivering classes through both synchronous and asynchronous modes alongside dedicated Success Coaches.
