The silhouette of the Builder, which was the main element of the older institutional logo, serves as the continuity of the tradition of excellence that the University has been known for. It also represents every Mapúan, taught and trained to help build the nation and the world.
The Binary code, which is inscribed in the Builder, spells the word “excellence,” the value that is characteristic of every Mapúan; a quality reflected in all his works.
Also inscribed in the Builder is the partial sequence of the miR-941 gene that is unique to human beings.
The pixels in red, yellow, gray, and silver symbolize the University’s thrust of harnessing the digital technology in the advancement of education and improvement of life.
he Builder rests his left hand on a globe, representing the University’s engagement in globalization.
The Greek ionic column symbolizes the University’s endless pursuit of wisdom. The Greeks would often put the ionic column on libraries and justice halls, that represent learning, wisdom, and justice.
The year Mapúa was founded.
Alma Mater, a song from the builders,
You embody the goal to attain,
Hear a song from the hearts of the wielders
Of compass and transit and chain.
Alma Mater, your name and your story,
We raise our glad voices to thee,
We will strive for the fame and glory,
Of Mapúa University
We will follow the light and the new prints,
We will trace on the footsteps of arts,
For our land, we the makers of blueprints,
Will struggle to fulfill our part
When away from your doors have been parted,
Thy sons in the flight of the years,
Still conscious and firm and whole hearted,
We will hail thee with songs and with cheers.
