2026 Summer Training & Workshop of Canteen Concessionaires By Mapúa University and The Soilmate Collective, Inc.

4 月 1, 2026 • 马普阿大学

A month-long workshop and training was again held at the Mapua University – Intramuros campus grounds in April of this year – as part of the Bokashi Composting Exchange Program set-up and actual assessment.  The assessment is the University and TSCI’s effectiveness measure of methane (CH4) regulation.

The Program is attended by the non-teaching staff of the canteen administration, CDMO, IGS, and canteen concessionaire representatives from Intramuros and Makati campuses.  Everyone was given the opportunity to learn proper Bokashi and food waste layering and fermentation.

The workshops included an opportunity to invest in Bokashi Compost livelihood to those who are eager to learn bokashi mixture making and how its life cycle serves as a circular and sustainable zero waste model.

Together, the Mapúa University and the TSCI ensured canteen vendors are properly educated on food waste minimization through in-house workshops and lectures – conducted by TSCI’s Founder, Ms. Rina Papio, as Mapúa University’s way of minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
