Step-by-Step Guide for Second College Degrees

Mapúa provides this set of information that will guide prospective students through the entire application process for Second College Degrees. Mapúa’s online admissions process features seamless stages from application to assessment to enrollment, allowing for an easy start in one’s journey. 

Step 1: Application

Applicant will send the scanned copy of the initial requirements thru the Admissions Office’s email (admissions@mapua.edu.ph):  

1. Transcript of Records (No failing grades)  

Step 2: Evaluation of Requirements

The Admissions Office will evaluate the scanned copy of the documents submitted and e-mail the applicant of the following forms to be filled out:  

1. Application Form for Transferee/Another Degree  

1. Academic Plan  

1. Program Curriculum  

Step 3: Payment of Admission Fee

The Admissions Office will advise the applicant to pay the admission fee of PhP 550.  

Step 4: MSAE

Once payment is already posted, the applicant is required to take the Mapua Scholastic Aptitude Exam (MSAE) for Second Bachelor’s Degree through Cardinal EDGE.    

Step 5: Requirements Submission

If the applicant passes the MSAE for Second Undergraduate Degree, the Admissions Office will send an email to the applicants informing them to submit all the additional requirements.

Additional requirements for AR, INT, ID and BMMA applicants:

1. Qualified applicants for AR, INT, ID & BMMA are required to submit a maximum of three (3) sketches/drawings through email. AdO will forward the documents to the EVPAA office for approval. 
2. Two recommendation letters from the previous school  
3. Original copy of Honorable Dismissal/Certificate of Transfer Credential  
4. Original or certified true copy of course (subject) descriptions  
5. Original certificate of good moral character issued by the college Student Affairs Office (with school seal)  
6. Two (2) identical pictures (plain background), size 1 ½” x 1 ½”  
7. Letter of Intent addressed to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs  
8. Original birth certificate printed on PSA paper  
9. Filled out Student Data Sheet  
10. Portfolio: Sketches/Drawings  

Additional requirements for Engineering program applicants:

1. Two recommendation letters from the previous school.  
2. Original copy of Honorable Dismissal/Certificate of Transfer Credential  
3. Original or certified true copy of course (subject) descriptions  
4. Original certificate of good moral character issued by the college Student Affairs Office (with school seal)  
5. Two (2) identical pictures (plain background), size 1 ½” x 1 ½”  
6. Letter of Intent addressed to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs  
7. Original birth certificate printed on PSA paper  
8. Filled out Student Data Sheet  

Additional requirements for Accountancy program applicants:

• ACT applicants will have an interview with the Assistant Dean before the approval of the EVPAA.  

Note: Applicants will be informed by the ET Yuchengco School of Business (ETYSBM) of their schedule of interviews.  

The Admissions Office will inform the applicant if they did not qualify for the program based on their MSAE score.  

Once requirements are completed and approved, the Registrar’s Office will process the enrolment of the student.  

Additional requirements for School of Media Studies applicants:

1. Qualified applicants for BMMA are required to submit a maximum of three (3) sketches/drawings through email.  
2. ALL applicants for SMS programs will have an interview with the Dean before the approval of the EVPAA. 

Note: The Admissions Office will inform the applicant if they did not qualify for the program based on their MSAE score.  

Applicants who passed the MSAE will be informed by the Admissions Office of their schedule of interviews.  

Once requirements are completed and approved, the Registrar’s Office will process the enrolment of the student. 

Application Deadlines

Note: The indicated deadlines above are referring to the whole process/guidelines of application. The process/guidelines for another degree must be completed before the application deadline and, therefore, the initial and additional requirements must submitted so the applicants may enroll on their preferred term.
