Transfer Requirements and Application Deadline

APPLICATION DEADLINE

 

SEMESTRAL DEADLINE OF APPLICATION
First Semester (June – November) 1st week of June

 

Note: The indicated deadlines above are referring to the whole process/guidelines of application. The process/guidelines for transferee must be completed before the application deadline and, therefore, the initial and additional requirements must submitted so the applicants may enroll on their preferred term.

 

 

TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS

 

1. For applicants coming from schools situated in the Philippines:

  • Grade 11 or 12 Report Card
  • No failing grade
  • General average of 80% or above
  • Original certificate of good moral character
  • Letter of intent addressed to the Senior High School (SHS) Principal. In the letter, state the strand applied for.

     

2. For applicants coming from schools situated abroad:

  • Authenticated copy of report card
  • No failing grade
  • General average of 80% or above
  • Authenticated copy of certificate of good moral character / recommendation letter
  • Authenticated copy of detailed course description
  • Letter of intent addressed to the Senior High School (SHS) Principal. In the letter, state the strand applied for.

     

3. Additional Requirements once approved by the Senior High School Principal

  • Certificate of transfer credential / certification from the principal stating the following:

    ○ Student has no accountability with the school

    ○ Student records are still with the school and have not been transferred to another school

  • Birth certificate:

    ○ Original birth certificate printed on Philippine Statistics Authority paper (Filipino)

    ○ Photocopy of birth certificate (foreign nationals)

  • Two (2) identical pictures (plain background), size 1.5” x 1.5”
  • Photocopy of Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) for foreign nationals
  • Admission fee

 

Note: Transferees must submit their Official Results of Basic Medical Laboratory Work-up (CBC, Urinalysis, Chest X-Ray: PA View) from any major hospitals, upon enrollment. Foreign applicants are subject to take the Mapúa English Language Test upon evaluation

Transfer Process

Transfer process for applicants applying from Academic Track (ABM, GAS, HUMSS, and STEM) to Academic Track

 

I. The applicant will send the scanned copy of the initial requirements thru the Admissions Office’s email (admissions@mapua.edu.ph).

 

  1. Original grade 11 report card (F-138) with eligibility to Grade 12 signed by the school Principal

    Note: Please submit the 1st and 2nd semester report cards (No failing grades)

  2. Certification of Good Moral Character (for students from the Philippines) or recommendation from the school guidance counselor or principal (for students coming from school abroad)
  3. Letter of intent addressed to the Senior High School (SHS) Principal.  Note: Please state in the letter the strand applying for.

     

II. The Admissions Office will evaluate the scanned copy of the documents submitted and e-mail the applicant of the following form to be filled out:

 

  • Application Form for SHS Transferee

     

III. For Approved Applicants:

 

The Admissions Office will send an email to the approved applicants informing them to submit the following additional requirements:

 

1. Certificate of transfer credential/certification from the principal stating the following: (waived for students from abroad)

  •                Student has no accountability to the school.
  •                Student records are still with the school and have not been transferred to another school.

    2. PSA birth certificate or equivalent of the country origin

    3. ID picture size 1.5”x 1.5”

    4. Basic medical laboratory work-up (CBC, urinalysis & PA view of chest x-ray) from any major hospital

    5. Photocopy of Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) for foreign nationals

    6. Filled-out student data sheet form for SHS

 

IV. The Admissions Office will encode the details of the applicants thru admissions buffalo system

 

V. The Admissions Office will advise the applicant to pay the admission fee of Php 550. Once payment is already posted, the Admissions Office will create a student number and forward all the requirements to the Registrar’s Office.

 

VI. The Registrar’s Office will process the enrollment and crediting of the applicants.

 

For Disapproved Applicants: 

The Admissions Office will inform the applicant that the application is disapproved.

 


 

Transfer process for applicants applying from Non-Academic Track [Arts & Design, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), and Sports] to Academic Track

 

I. The applicant will send the scanned copy of the initial requirements thru the Admissions Office’s email (admissions@mapua.edu.ph)

 

  1. Original grade 11 report card (F-138) with eligibility to Grade 12 signed by the school Principal

    Note: Please submit the 1st and 2nd semester report cards (No failing grades)

  2. Certification of Good Moral Character (for students from the Philippines) or recommendation from the school guidance counselor or principal (for students coming from school abroad)
  3. Letter of intent addressed to the Senior High School (SHS) Principal.  Note: Please state in the letter the strand applying for.

 

II. The Admissions Office will evaluate the scanned copy of the documents submitted and e-mail the applicant of the following form to be filled out:

 

  1. Application Form for SHS Transferee

 

III. The Admissions Office will advise the applicant to pay the admission fee of Php 550.

 

IV. Once payment is already posted, applicants will take the MPASS for transferee thru Blackboard.

 

V. Once passed, Admissions Office will forward their application to the SHS Principal for approval.

 

VI. For Approved Applicants, the Admissions Office will send an email to the approved applicants informing them to submit the following additional requirements:

 

  1. a. Certificate of transfer credential/certification from the principal stating the following: (waived for students from abroad)

Student records are still with the school and have not been transferred to another school.

TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS

 

Initial Requirements 

 

Original transcript of records

  1. No failing grade
  2. A weighted average of at least 2.00 or its equivalent, excluding Religion, Physical Education (PE) and National Service Training Program (NSTP)
  3. Original certificate of good moral character issued by the college Student Affairs Office (with school seal)
  4. Letter of Intent addressed to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA). Please state the program applied for.

     

Notes: 

Applicants applying for Engineering and Science programs are subject to take the Mapúa Scholastic Aptitude Examination for Math. 

Applicants applying for Architecture, Interior Design, and Multimedia Arts and Sciences are required to take the Skills Test as an additional examination.

Applicants applying for programs under the School of Media Studies are required to have an interview with the Dean.

 

Additional Requirements once approved by the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA):

  1. Honorable dismissal/Certificate of Transfer Credential
  2. Original or certified true copy of detailed course (subject) descriptions
  3. Original birth certificate printed on Philippine Statistics Authority paper
  4. Two (2) identical pictures (plain background), size 1½” x 1½”
  5. Photocopy of ACR for foreign nationals
  6. Admission fee

     

Note: Social Sciences, Filipino, PE, and NSTP are the only subjects that shall be credited without a validation examination. For other courses (i.e. English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Drawing, Physics, and Computer), the applicants must take the validation examinations to be given one (1) month before the enrollment period, for a fee. Otherwise, he should repeat the courses. Only courses in the basic program may be credited. However, no validation examination should be given to applicants who come from higher educational institutions with the status of full autonomy (granted by the Commission on Higher Education) provided the course description for the courses to be credited are equivalent to Mapúa’s course description.

 

 

The following rules shall govern the admission of transfer students:

Transfer students may be admitted to a degree program provided that –

  • they would complete in Mapúa at least sixty percent (60%) of the units required for the degree program
  • the maximum number of students quota set by the School and the Registrar for the degree program to which admission is sought has not yet been filled up
  • they have accomplished and submitted the Fraternity Contract (form issued by the Registrar’s Office during enrollment)

 

The admission of transfer students shall be on a probationary basis until all courses taken outside Mapúa, which are required for the degree program, shall have been validated or repeated.

 

Note: Transferees must submit their Official Results of Basic Medical Laboratory Work-up (CBC, Urinalysis, Chest X-Ray: PA View) from any major hospitals, upon enrollment.

Transfer Process

1. Applicant will send the scanned copy of the following initial requirements thru admissions email (admissions@mapua.edu.ph):

  1. Transcript of Records (No failing grades)
  2. Certification of Good Moral Character
  3. Letter of intent addressed to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA)

2. The Admissions Office will evaluate the scanned copy of the documents submitted and e-mail the applicant of the following forms to be filled-out:

  1. Application Form for Transferee
  2. Academic Plan
  3. Program Curriculum

Additional requirements for AR, INT, ID and BMMA applicants:
– Qualified applicants for AR, INT, ID & BMMA are required to submit a maximum of three (3) sketches/drawing thru email.
Note: Applicants will be informed by the Admissions Office on when this will be submitted.

Additional requirements for Engineering program applicants:
– Qualified applicants for engineering programs are required to take the MSAE Math Exam for Transferee thru Blackboard.
Note: Applicants will be informed by the Admissions Office on when they will take the MSAE.

 

3. For Approved Applicants:
The Admissions Office will send an email to the approved applicants informing to submit all the additional requirements:

  • Honorable Dismissal/Transfer Credential
  • Detailed course description
  • PSA birth certificate
  • (2) identical pictures (plain background), size 1 ½” x 1 ½”
  • Filled-out Student Data Sheet

 

4. The Admissions Office will advise the applicant to pay the admission fee of PhP 550.

 

5. Once payment is already posted, the Admissions Office will forward all the requirements to the Registrar’s Office.

 

6. The Registrar’s Office will assign student number and process the enrollment of the applicant.

 

For Disapproved applicants:
The Admissions Office will inform the applicant the that application is disapproved.
