Qualifiers of the School of Medicine Merit Scholarship
- Applicants who meet the NMAT Percentile requirement of 90 and above AND graduated with Latin Honors are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Applicants who meet the NMAT Percentile requirement of 95 and above AND graduated with Magna or Summa cum Laude are eligible to apply for the Merit Scholarship 1.
- Applicants who meet the NMAT Percentile requirement of 90 and above AND graduated with Latin Honors are eligible to apply for the Merit Scholarship 2.
Benefits
- SOM Merit Scholar I: 50% discount on tuition and laboratory fees
- SOM Merit Scholar II: 30% discount on tuition and laboratory fees
Scholarship conditions to continuously enjoy the grant
- Maintain a cumulative GWA of 2.75 or better at the end of each academic year;
- Must have no final grades below 3.00 in any course. A grade lower than 3.00 in any course would mean discontinuance of the scholarship even if the cumulative GWA is 2.75 or higher;
- Must maintain a regular academic status every year and must finish the program within the prescribed number of years;
- Must not been found guilty of participating in any violation against the University; and
- Must not go on Leave of Absence (LOA) for a duration of 2 weeks or more without prior approval from the Center for scholarships and Financial Assistance (CSFA).
- Qualifications and availment of the School of Medicine Merit Scholarship Program shall exclude any further availment of other scholarships or financial incentives provided for or administered by the University, including faculty scholarships arising from the CBA between the University and FAMIT.
- SoM Merit scholars must have their scholarship validated every enrollment, by submitting a scholarship validation form (FM-SF-13-00) to CSFA, refer to PCM-SF-02-00 Scholarship Validation for more details.
