The Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering program is designed to produce graduates who are equipped with the theoretical and technical principles of materials characterization and testing, property enhancement and modifications, and materials design and engineering. The program’s courses are expective to open avenues for graduate students to demonstrate creativity and innovation in the design and development of different materials. The program is a multi-disciplinary program that intends to prepare scientists and engineers to contribute to the country's technological, industrial, and economic development. Students interested in pursuing this degree can select from two pathways: the Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering (by Research) or the Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering – Nanotechnology Track. The curriculum of Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering (by Research) program is designed to offer a dynamic opportunity to pioneer cutting-edge advancements in materials innovation through independent, high-impact research that pushes the boundaries of science and technology. The Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering program - Nanotechnology Track offers an in-depth exploration of nanoscale materials, focusing on their design, synthesis, and applications across diverse industries. This research-driven program equips students with the expertise to innovate in cutting-edge fields such as energy, electronics, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing, driving technological advancements at the molecular level.
