The MA in Film Production offers graduate-level training of the principles of the different elements of film. Then, these principles are applied in exercises and/or film projects. The program prepares students to become professional filmmakers in narrative, documentary and experimental films. With this philosophy, the students will be trained to explore new techniques to be used in their film projects for the different major film traditions. As more BFA Digital Cinema and BA Digital Film graduate from Mapúa, the MA in Film Production offers students advanced training in film production. Graduates of any Bachelor’s degree can take the program as long as they have an interest in film with the aim of becoming filmmakers for the global market and industry in one of the major film traditions. Since there are no graduate Film Production programs in the country, many communication and media teachers and practitioners will be enticed to enroll in this program. This will result to better film education as well as better films in the local film industry and be more competitive in the world market and film festivals.
